Shinano Gold is a yellow-skinned apple. The colour is deeper that that of Golden Delicious and the shape is more rounded. In comparison, there are also fewer lenticels visible and much less propensity for russet to develop. The flesh is a very pale yellow to white and has a fairly soft texture with some chrunch, though has good juice levels. Sweetness and acidity are good and some flavour can be detected.
