Just dwelling on my fruit grazing habit and realised that, at the moment, I’m constantly drawn to the plum bowl: they are really impressive as the South African and Chilean seasons enter their latter stages.
Sadly, my plum bowl is arranged in little mountains, each a different variety to taste as they soften. The laetitia have been wonderfully sweet and succulent, now finished in shops, but replaced by the deeply flavoursome African Delight, just delicious. FlavorKing is also full of flavour, and I’m now waiting for some Chilean Pink Delight to ripen next – watch this space!
To really enjoy these plums, make sure they are quite soft after some days at room temperature (typically up to a week).
