Nam Dok Mai or Golden mango, is the most famous mango of Thailand. It’s shape is unique and the smooth, thin pale yellow skin hints at what is inside. The Nam Dok Mai is a totally fibreless mango with silky smooth juicy flesh with a deliciously unique, but mild, flavour.
These delicate mangoes are not common occupants of our supermarket shelves due to their expense, and delicate nature. They have a short shelf-life, so need to be air-freighted, and are generally best found in oriental corner shops or in China Town.
