Galil avocado is a relatively new variety which is notable for being an early maturing fruit. Galil is a green-skinned avocado with buttery, light yellow flesh.
Being early to mature, it also has a slightly shorter shelf-life than other main varieties.

Origin: Israel. Galil is a cultivar of Arad (2-45-88) which is an avocado seedling selected in a breeding project conducted at the Volcani Center, Bet Dagan, Israel. Galil was released in 1998.
