Sweet Nectar is a seedless red grape. The berries are small to medium in size and have a round to slightly oval shape (obtuse ovate). The colour is an attractive orange-red. The skin has a medium thickness offering some resistance to the bite and distinct crunch and chewiness to the berry despite the flesh being soft. There is a slight astringency to the skin, but this is nicely balanced by a high level of sweetness. The sweetness is, in turn, complimented by an intense flavour reminiscent of pineapple, sultana, melon and sherbet.
Sweet Nectar is a mid to late season variety ripening 4-5 weeks later than Flame Seedless. Sweetness levels are typically 20oBrix.

Sweet Nectar is well named, and a very satisfyingly sweet seedless grape, with a good crunch from the skin, and suffused with interesting flavours.

Origin: IFG Eighteen is a product of the breeding programme at International Fruit Genetics, California. It is the result of a cross between two unnamed IFG seedless varieties in May, 2004 which was first propagated asexually in December, 2006. The resulting propagule was planted out in Delano, California in April 2007. The US plant patent was granted in January, 2014. Sweet Nectar is the registered marketing name for IFG Eighteen and is owned by IFG.
