Wild Blackberries

Wild blackberries are sublime when picked and eaten fresh within a few hours. Add a bit of clotted cream to enhance the experience- scrumptious!  The hedgerows are plentiful with ripe fruit in August and September in most parts of the country, but in 2011 the warm spring means early maturity in late July, particularly in the south and south-west: just help yourself.
