Sweet Enchantment is an early-season seedless black grape with medium to large oval (obtuse ovate) berries. It has a deep ebony black skin which is moderately thick and chewy, and has a mild astringency. The flesh is quite soft and bursts into the mouth on biting with a rush of juicy sweetness, balanced nicely by a mild tang. Sweetness levels are high (about 19Brix) and flavour is neutral. Occasionally, a vestigial seed can be detected in the berry, but without any detriment to eating quality.
Sweet Enchantment is similar to Summer Royal but with larger berries, greater productivity and better storage characteristics, such as very little stem drying or berry shatter and less decay.
