The Al Hamra mandarin is a very late-harvested variety coming after Nadorcott and Murcott. It has a deep orange peel which is tightly adhered to the segments: quite smooth and without prominent oil cells. The albedo is thin and the peel can be removed easily and in one piece without any oily residue. The segments are firm and have an intense sweetness and good acid balance for such a late-hanging fruit.
