Murcott is a dense, heavy, late season mandarin with intense sweetness and flavour – very satisfying. The flesh is richly orange. The peel is smooth and thin with a reddish orange colour which is a little more difficult to remove when compared with many easy-peelers, though is no real problem once a break through the skin is achieved.
Murcott can be heavily seeded but stock sold in supermarkets is usually almost seed-free.
