Scrumptious

Category:

Scrumptious is a new early English variety with rosy red peel and white crisp flesh. Reminiscent of Discovery, but with greater levels of sweetness and crispness, this is a great addition to the range of early-season options. The variety has received the Award of Garden Merit, which is very unusual for an apple variety.

Origin: Bred by Hugh Ermen at the Brogdale Horticultural Trust, Kent in the 1980’s, resulting from a cross between Golden Delicious and Discovery.

Grown in: England

Harvest & Availability: An early season variety, similar in harvest period to Discovery.
Late August to mid-September: from England
